Why FITOS shows your trend weight, not today's number

Step on a scale two mornings in a row and the number can jump by a kilo. You didn't gain a kilo of fat overnight — that's water, salt, food still being digested, and a dozen other things. Over a week, the noise can be bigger than the change you're actually making.
That's why the big number on the FITOS Progress screen is your trend weight, not your latest reading.
What the trend is
The trend is a smoothed line through your readings: each new weigh-in nudges it, but no single morning can throw it around. The dots on the chart are your actual readings; the line is the trend. Your latest reading is still shown, smaller, underneath.
What FITOS waits for
A trend needs data, so FITOS is honest about what it can't tell you yet:
- the weekly rate appears after about ten days of readings;
- the change appears once your readings span at least a week;
- FITOS never shows a day-to-day change at all.
How to weigh in
A few times a week is plenty. Same time of day, ideally in the morning before you eat. Then stop looking at single days — the trend will tell you where you're going.
